On March 7, with regard to the International Women’s day Women’s Information Center held a campaign “Violets from the ABL”. The aim of the campaign was to attract public attention to the needs of the population, especially the needs of women of village Chorchana, located in 100 meters from the ABL.

Before planning the campaign, representatives of the Women's Information Center met with local women of village Chorchana. As a result of the meeting with local women their needs and problems were identified.  The list of problems included problem of water, infrastructure, road, transport, mobile connection and ambulatory.

Forest and fields are important for the population. However, not so long ago Russian occupants made yellow marks in the woods, meaning that probably soon they will place new occupation line there. On this territories local women collect violets and then sell them in Khashuri on March 3 and 8.  For this, they have to overcome many difficulties especially now, because of the reasons already mentioned above their security is in danger.

With regard to the International Women’s day and in the framework of the campaign “Violets from the ABL”, the representatives of WIC visited population of village Chorchana and gave them special presents.  Informational booklets about violence against women was also distributed and then discussed amongst WIC members and local population of Chorchana.

Everything started when the director of WIC Elene Rusetskaia during her speech in the framework of the project of Tbilisi City Assembly “let's find ways together ” mentioned small village Chorchana, where only 16 families live and said that  for them the only hope right now is selling violets in Khashuri. After that, real estate company m² joined the campaign. The Company bought the flowers collected by women of Chorchana and also gave them agricultural equipment for present. The flowers were distributed from the ABL to the almshouses of Tbilisi.
