Food Distribution to IDPs Continues in the Regions

Under the State assistance, IDPs living in regions received sugar and salt. Similar aid for IDP community is implemented periodically with the assistance of the Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia and the local municipalities.

At present, aid is being distributed to all collective settlements in the Samegrelo region. 5 kg of sugar and 4 kg salt are intended per household. At this stage, up to 5 000 IDP families received assistance, aid distribution continues for the rest of the families.

As the IDPs note, such assistance implemented from time to time and it is quite useful: “Sometimes they distribute bread, grouts, as well as chickens. They pay attention and do their best within the existing capacities.”

The Ministry of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia notes, that this kind of assistance will be delivered to IDPs living in collective centers in regions. Such humanitarian activities will continue in various forms.
