The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia, Dali Khomeriki met IDPs, living in the former hotel Amirani in Saburtalo region.
The first working meeting with IDPs as a Minister, began with acquaintance of situation in the collective center. Dali Khomeriki personally visited IDP families and looked over their living spaces.
137 IDP families have been living in the former hotel Amirani for 20 years. Installation of individual electricity counters has been carried out but different issues of living conditions remain unresolved.
Also, the Minister introduced a new program of the Government called More Benefit to People. She explained the most important program aim is to benefit every IDPs. The priorities are healthcare, education, agriculture and employment. As a result of improving essentially important areas every IDP family will have better living conditions.
The new Minister will continue introductory meetings with IDPs in order to clarify problems of each of them and work with the Government to resolve it in short-term of period. The Minister will continue meetings with IDPs in various settlements throughout Georgia.
