The Training in Gender Responsive Budgeting

In 22-24 July in frames of Women for Equality Peace and Development project was held the training in Gender Responsive Budgeting. In the training participated members of committees of collaboration with local self government, community workers and representatives of local governments from the municipalities of Marneuli, Gori, Tetritskaro, Samtredia and Zugdidi. The training was facilitated by international trainer in GRB, Swapna Bist Joshi.


Participants of the training had discussed various concrete and specific social issues their respective regions and villages are facing right now. Participants also made plans of collaboration with local self government and discussed possibilities of cooperative projects.


WEPD project is supported by Norwegian Government and is implementing by UN Women office in Tbilisi in partnership with Women’s Information Center and Taso Foundation. The project Women for Equality, Peace and Development in Georgia implies cooperation, technical and financial assistance to relevant national partners in the government and civil society in order to support the realization of gender equality and the reduction of feminized poverty through addressing women’s social, economic, and political needs, with particular focus on internally displaced, conflict-affected and national minority women’s groups.
