Prof. Ketevan Khutsishvili, Professor, Gender and the Law Chair holder, Tbilisi State University Prof. Bridget Arimond, Clinical Professor of Law, Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago, IL, USA)
Public outreach event will take place on February 10, 2016 at 12:00-14:00 at the Tbilisi State University, Ivane Javakhishvili Auditorium No.107 Consecutive interpretation into Georgian will be provided.
Prof. Ketevan Khutsishvili is Public International Law and Human Rights Professor at International Law Institute, Tbilisi State University and Head of PhD program in European Studies. Prof. Khutsishvili has been teaching at Tbilisi State University since 2003 and from 2016 she is a Gender and Law Chair holder with the support of EWMI/PROLoG activity. She has human rights NGO background within Georgia, the Baltic states, Central Asia and Eastern Europe alongside of having served for the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia as Chief of International Service. Ketevan Khutsishvili is a member of the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, liaison in Georgia for the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on the Action against Trafficking in Human Beings and a deputy member at ECRI in respect of Georgia, as well as a member of American Society of International Law.
Prof. Bridget Arimond is Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the LLM Program in International Human Rights at the Center for International Human Rights, Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Prof. Arimond has been involved in Clinical education and Human Rights teaching since 2003. Prior to joining the faculty, she practiced law as a civil rights attorney in domestic US courts for more than 20 years, litigating cases of race and sex discrimination. She is a member of the American Society of International Law.
