Terms of reference for the position of the lecturerfor the course “Domestic violence and social work”

Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and team of the project “Intersectoral and community-based measures for the elimination of the domestic violence in Georgia: joint efforts on the implementation of the anti-violence legislation” are seeking for the person to take over the position of the lecturer for the educational course “Domestic violence and social work”. Course has been prepared and piloted within the framework of the project mentioned above. Course has been delivered to 53 social workers. Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is ready to include the educational course in the curricula. Course is aimed at preparing qualified specialists able to work with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.

Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Department of Sociology and Social Work

Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University

Duration of the course

1 semester lasts for 15 weeks. The course will be of 5 ECTS credits, which equals to 125 work hours of a student (breakdown of these 125 working hours into contact and independent hours is up to the lecturer). 1 contact hour lasts for 50 minutes.

Requests to the candidate

Candidate is supposed to correspond to the following characteristics:

To posses high educational degree in sociology, social work, psychology or other relevant educational background
To posses experience of delivering of the lectures in the high educational establishments or other public lectures is desirable
To have strong understanding of gender equality issues, human rights and issues related to domestic violence problem.
To have excellent command of Georgian.

Holding of PhD is an asset. All interested candidates should submit their CV and letter of intention, in which to describe why this job opening is interesting for the candidate and how he/she plans delivering of the course.

Remuneration

Final remuneration will be defined in accordance with qualification of the selected candidate and rules and regulations of the TSU (10 GEL per hour for the candidate, who does not hold PhD and 15 GEL per hour for the candidate holding PhD).
