Spectrum. After 2008 August events a lot of people left Tskhinvali region and were made to move to Telavi region. These IDPs recently met the local government.

The above mentioned meeting was initiated and organized by NGO Association of Young Economists of Georgia, which is carrying out project for IDPs “Together we’ll make it all”. The representatives of various committees of Telavi Municipality were attending the meeting. IDPs from South Ossetia introduced their problems to local government. Giving and legalizing agricultural land is the primary request of the IDPs.

“We ask government to give us agricultural lands on the territory, where it will be easy for us to get by the public transport. We were promised that we will be given territory surrounding our living place and this will be very profitable for us”, stated Nikoloz Medzmariashvili, IDP from Tskhinvali Region. “We do our best to help and support the IDPs, but we cannot support them financially. We offer them solicitation with various organizations.

Foreseeing the total sums will be possible in budget of the coming year. As for the requested lands, this problem will be solved in near future”- said Davit Ksovrelishvili, Deputy of Telavi Municipality Governor. It has to be mentioned that “Spectrum” published information about the IDPs’ problems and project “Together we’ll make it all” a couple of months ago, in the first edition of 2010, but the problems are not yet solved.
