Privatization process is ongoing. The Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani visited IDPs from Abkhazia residing on Ninoshvili Street # 57 in Tbilisi. The minister personally informed IDPs regarding the legalization process.

150 IDPs live in the former building of the sport complex. Their main request was privatization of the living spaces. Koba Subeliani mentioned during the meeting with the IDPs that transferring of the living spaces to IDPs ownership is one of the component parts of the president’s order.

Koba Subeliani, the Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia: “28 IDP families from Abkhazia live on Ninoshvili Street # 57. IDPs are from Sukhumi and Ochamchire. On the basis of the President’s order living spaces will be transferred to their ownership and this way IDPs will be on a safe side.”

IDPs mentioned that when they have their own shelter they will consider themselves as the valuable members of the country. Vakhtang Dadakhava, IDP from Abkhazia: “On behalf of all IDPs I declare that our main problem was that we did not have the property. Mr. Minister visited us to inform that nobody will settle us out from this building and the living spaces will be transferred to our ownership. We have been waiting for this event for 17 years. We have been never supported like this for 17 years.”
