UNIFEM to launch two large-scale actions for encouraging women's rights protection in Georgia

The United Nations Development Fund for Women will implement two large-scale actions to encourage protection of women's rights in Georgia. The first project titled "Women for Equality, Peace and Development" aims at showing support to IDPs, women suffered in conflicts, civil society and governmental partners, as well as ensuring different possibilities for improving the situation in gender equality for them in Georgia.

The second one "ShiELD" stipulates prevention and overcoming of the family violence, provision of relative service for the victims of the sexual abuse during the family conflict, which includes providing shelters, hot lines and legal assistance.
