IDPs residing in Bazaleti will receive the property. The minister Koba Subeliani personally informed IDPs about it. The minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani held a meeting with the IDPs from Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region residing in the former building of an old people’s home. The minister inspected their living conditions.

About 40 IDP families live in the above mentioned building. Their main request was to transfer living spaces to their ownership. Before that rehabilitation activities were carried out in the building. Doors, windows and floor were changed; central sewerage and water supply system was repaired. The minister mentioned during the meeting with the IDPs that they will provide the building with the natural gas supply.

Koba Subeliani: “About 40 IDP families from Abkhazia and Samachablo reside in this building. The building is rehabilitated and legalization process is ongoing. Gas supply activities will be soon finished. We will privatize the other living spaces in the nearest future. There are 1600 buildings where the IDPs from Abkhazia and Samachablo reside. Most number of the buildings was already privatized and the process is still ongoing. Last days the opponents say that the privatization process is stopped. The process is ongoing. By now about 15000 IDPs have received the property.”

IDPs mentioned during the meeting with the minister that they were going to address the ministry with the request regarding privatization of the living spaces and they are happy that the minister personally visited them. Genadi Mogeladze, IDP from Abkhazia: “We were willing to meet the minister and to solve legalization related issues. We are happy that the minister visited us personally. The living spaces will be transferred to our ownership, we were dreaming about it for a long time. Rehabilitation activities were carried out in the building, metal-plastic windows and doors were fixed, and sewerage system was repaired. The minister promised us that we will have gas supply in the nearest future. Most important is that we will have our own shelter.”
