11 members of a Danish delegation visited Tserovani. Today Danish nongovernmental organization of liberty and democracy support “SILBA” visited IDP settlement in Tserovani. The delegation also visited Ergneti near the occupation border to meet with IDPs.

The Minister of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia Koba Subeliani hosted the delegation members in Tserovani. The Minister talked about Russia-Georgia war results, IDPs resettlement and future plans.

The Danish delegation was interested in democracy quality of Georgia, election environment, IDPs conditions and new settlements. As per their statement this visit is very important as Denmark is Georgia’s partner country and their partnership will be continued.

Lacy Stentoft, Head of Delegation:”We were observing the Russia-Georgia conflict from Denmark and its results. It is pleasure for us to be here and to see what activities are implemented for the IDP population. When we return back to Denmark we will disseminate information about dignified living conditions that the Government of Georgia provides for IDPs.”

Koba Subeliani mentioned during the meeting with the guests that IDPs support will be continued in cooperation with the partner countries: “Danish delegation will visit other IDP settlements. They study war results that will be disseminated among Danish citizens. They are well aware what happened in Georgia, what we went through, how we have supported IDPs and what we intend to do in future. Our partner countries will support us.”

The delegation will visit Stalin’s museum in Gori today. By the end of a day they will leave for Denmark.
