Field Visit in Gori Municipality

On February 13, 2013 Women’s Information Center carried out field visit in Shida Kartli Region with pre-defiend schedule in the framework of the project “Women for Equality, Peace and Development”. The visit included the participation in the coordination meeting organized by UNHCR.
The same day, representatives of women’s information center with partner organization – Fund Taso held meeting with the council chairman of Gori, Davit Razmadze and Director of Gori municipality Development Agency, David Japaridze.

Chair of Gori municipality expressed readiness for cooperation in the framework of one window principle coordination meetings. He also provided information about the specific cases and NGOs working on these cases.
Meeting was held at the social communal center of village Skra IDP settlement which was organized by community worker of Fund Taso, Elza Mzareulishvili. The purpose of the meeting was identification of IDP problems and needs. Meeting was led by the director of women’s information center, Elene Rusetskaia.

During the conversation with the participants of the meeting most pressing problems were identified, such as inexistence of kindergarten in the settlement, not using the resource of the social communal center, problem of shower, road reconstruction, etc. Moreover, specific problems were identified and after detailed study it will be possible to discuss these problems in the framework of one window principle consultation meetings.
The same day, Representatives of women’s information center met with the representatives of public union bridge of friendship “Kartlosi” and agreed on future cooperation.
