UN Women has organized the second regional workshop in the frames of Social Mobilization Programme. It was attended by the representatives of Women NGOs operating in the post-Soviet space. The meeting was opened by Damira Sartbaeva, Regional Programme Director of the UN Women Sub-Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The workshop was also attended by representatives of the Community Organizations from Georgia, who, in the frames of the project “Women for Equality, Peace and Development”, are implementing certain activities in their own regions.

Representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were also participating in the workshop. The main goal of the workshop was to share experiences accumulated by the women's organizations working in these countries.

It should be noted that this was the second workshop of a similar type held in Istanbul about two years ago, which mostly had an introductory character. As the organizers mentioned, the workshops will continue.
