Finance Officer to the South Caucasus regional office in Tbilisi

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation is currently looking for a part-time Finance Officer to our regional office for South Caucasus. The position will be based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Last day of application: February 6, 2014.

The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, hereafter Kvinna till Kvinna (“Woman to Woman”), is a Swedish women’s, peace and development organization. Kvinna till Kvinna supports women during times of war and conflict to increase women’s power and influence.

Kvinna till Kvinna supports local women’s organisations in conflict regions through financial support and educational activities. We collaborate with women’s organisations that play an active part in peace and rebuilding processes.

Kvinna till Kvinna supports women’s organisations that promote the participation of women in all areas of society. Kvinna till Kvinna believes that its local partner organisations have the knowledge and awareness of the local problems and needs, and are best suited to address them. Kvinna till Kvinna’s partner organisations plan and implement projects based on their hands-on needs assessments and analyses.

Kvinna till Kvinna cooperates with more than 130 women’s organisations in the following regions: Central and Western Africa; the Middle East; the Western Balkans and the South Caucasus. Kvinna till Kvinna has cooperated with women’s organisations in the South Caucasus since 2002.

Tasks:
•Day to day financial accounting and preparation of statutory reports.
•Calculate and transfer payments.
•Payroll preparation.
•Calculate and produce monthly financial cash flow and expenditure reports to the Kvinna till Kvinna head office.
•Responsibility for the preparation of accounts for the annual audit and follow-up of the audit report.
•Assess Kvinna till Kvinna’s partner organisations’ semiannual and annual financial reports and provide support to the partner organisations.
•Keep up-to-date with the relevant legislation and ensure that the accounting of the office is in line with the legal framework.

The Finance Officer (FO) will be part of Kvinna till Kvinna’s regional team for South Caucasus and will report to the appointed supervising Field Representative. The position will be based in Tbilisi, Georgia. The post holder may be required to undertake limited travel throughout Georgia and to some extent throughout the wider South Caucasus region.

The FO will work in close cooperation with both staff members in Tbilisi and Kvinna till Kvinna’s finance department in Stockholm.

Qualifications:
•Hold an accountancy qualification.
•Some years’ work experience in financial management, preferably from NGOs.
•Command and good working knowledge of Excel.
•Sound IT skills.
•Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
•Working knowledge of English.

Terms of employment:
•Part-time position (20 working hours per week), with possible extension.
•Permanent position, subject to 6 months probation period.
•Salary depending on qualifications and experience.
•Starting as soon as possible.
