Opening of the Library in Kvemo Khalatsani

Building of Gamgeoba. Women’s Information Center, with the support of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, is organizing library in the village Kvemo Khalatsani. Event is carried out within the framework of the project “Gender Sensitive Information for Gender Equality in Georgia”.

 

During the advisory meetings with women living in Pankisi Gorge, held by Women’s Information Center, necessity of the library, which will be helpful in terms of raising consciousness, improving education level and awareness, had been outlined. At the intercession of Women’s Information Center, the appropriate room in the building of Gamgeoba has been allocated, repaired and equipped. The National Parliamentary Library of Georgia will deliver to the library of Kvemo Khalatsani up to 500 books. In this regard, Women’s Information Center is also planning cooperation with publishing companies. Opening of the library will be attended by the representatives of local government, Women’s Information Center and National Library.

 

About the project “Gender Sensitive Information for Gender Equality in Georgia”


Project is being implemented by Women’s Information Center, with financial support of Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation. Project is aimed at ensuring consideration of gender standards, while implementing information policy in Georgia. Project also provides creation of the structure for overcoming gender stereotypes, in order to form more gender sensitive society.
