Georgian Local Elections 2014 Gender Statistics

Based on existing data for local elections 2014, Central Election Commission prepared gender statistics. Document reflects a balance between men and women candidates for Mayor and Gamgebeli positions, as well as electoral subjects in party lists. Statistics were also calculated regarding majority system candidates registered by initiative groups and parties/blocks. Concerning gender balance in total electoral roll, according to data of May 1 - 1,866,514 from 3,472,772 voters are female, and others are male.

 

Statistics include gender composition of election administration of CEC, as well as regional and district election commissions.
 

Gender statistics:

Gender balance of Tbilisi mayoral candidates
Total: 14 – 12 men and 2 women

 

Gender balance of registered mayoral candidates in self-governing cities (in total 11 self-governing cities except Tbilisi)
Total: 73 – 65 men and 8 women

 

Gender balance of registered candidates for Gamgebeli of self-governing communities (except Tbilisi)
Total: 261– 251 men and 10 women

 

Candidates registered by election subjects’ party-lists (Tbilisi)
Total: 1 129– 702 men and 427 women

 

Gender composition of candidates registered by parties/blocks for majority system elections (Tbilisi)
Total: 308– 242 men and 66 women

 

Gender composition of candidates registered by parties/blocks for majority system elections (except Tbilisi)
Total: 5 707– 4861 men and 846 women

 

Gender composition of candidates registered by initiative groups for majority system elections (Tbilisi)
Total: 5 – 5 men and 0 women

 

Gender composition of candidates registered by initiative groups for majority system elections (except Tbilisi)
Total: 897 – 796 men and 101 women

 

Gender composition of total electoral roll
Total: 3 472 772 –1606 258 men and 1 866 514 women
