Establishing Institutional Mechanism on Gender Equality in Local Governance

Women’s Information Center is organizing a conference “Establishing Institutional Mechanism on Gender Equality in Local Governance”.

 

Meeting aims to promote gender sensitive governance in local governments through establishing institutional mechanisms for gender equality at the local level. In the course of the meeting, public discussion concerning recommendations on this issue prepared by NGOs, including changes to legislation, will be conducted.

 

The representatives of legislative and executive branches of government, local governance, international and non-governmental organizations will be attending the meeting.

 

Event organized by Women’s Information Center in the framework of the project “Sustaining Gender Justice through Enhancing Women’s Political Engagement”, with the support of Oxfam, UN Women and Foundation Sokhumi.

Project “Sustaining Gender Justice through Enhancing Women’s Political Engagement”

Project is being implemented by Women’s Information Center, with the support of Georgian office of British charity organization Oxfam. Project is aimed at enhancing women’s engagement in country’s political life.
