8th of March's manifestation supporting women’s rights - More women in Georgian Parliament

Category: Gender policy
2015-03-05

On 8th of March at 15:00 there will be a manifestation in support of women’s rights in 25 (twenty-five) cities of Georgia! We make up 53% of the Georgian population, although in the country’s Parliament we represent only 12%. Only 2 women owere selected out of 59 Gamgabeli. There is not a single woman on the position of Mayor and Governor!

It has been 25 years since Georgia gained its independence, even though we no progress has been achieved in the direction of women’s participation in politics. Our rights are being violated as before. Femicide in 2014  has showed that even our right to life is violated in Georgia.
