Strategic planning of Task Force group for Women's Political Participation

Category: Gender policy
2015-09-10

Strategic planning of Task Force group for Women's Political Participation is now underway at Kvareli Eden Hotel where the representatives of Women's Information Center (WIC) together with other members of the group are discussing its legislative amendment on introducing gender quotas as a temporary measure for increasing the number of women in parliament.

It means that the parties/election blocks taking part in the 2016 parliamentary elections should have one men-one women principle in their lists, which gives 38 women members of parliament from 77 members selected via proportional lists when there are 150 MPs as a whole
