Nadia Aboulhosn wants women everywhere to feel good about themselves and their bodies. The fashion designer, blogger and model is the cover girl for this month’s Women’s Running magazine — the second time ever a plus-size model has been on the magazine’s cover. Aboulhosn, 27, says she’s faced criticism for her weight before, with online commenters regularly claiming she’s unhealthy and not fit. She hopes her cover will help get across the idea that being healthy doesn’t necessarily equate with being thin.
Above an image of Aboulhosn running down the street, dramatic eye-makeup intact, are the words: “The best reason to be body positive: Science says self-love makes you run faster.”
“I think it sends out the message that no matter what size you are at the moment, the most important thing is for you to feel good about yourself, in order to do what you want to do,” she says.
