Public Defender’s Institute to Mark 10th Anniversary with International Conference in Tbilisi

On February 11-12, 2008 Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel is to host an international conference on freedom of expression. The event is dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Public Defender’s institute.

12 European ombudsmen and their representatives are to arrive in Tbilisi to take part in the conference. In addition the conference will be attended by the heads of the international human rights organizations working in Georgia. Thomas Hammarberg, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights is to partake in the conference.

The conference is to be held with the support of the Eunomia project being implemented by the Greek Ombudsman’s Office and Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe.
