New Draft Law on Gender Equality in Georgia

On 3d of February 2009 meeting of the working group on preparation of the draft law on gender equality has been carried out in the Parliament of Georgia. Draft Law “On equal rights and equal opportunities of women and men” within the framework of the UNDP project “Gender and politics”.
Working group is attached to the Advisory Parliamentary Council on Gender Issues under initiative of the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Chairwoman of the Council Ms. Rusudan Kervalishvili. Working group includes MPs, representatives of the different Ministries, NGO sector, international organizations and foundations, and academic circles.
