In 24 April, 2009, 5 p.m. Interkulturelles Zentrum cordially invites you in Vienna to the discussion about: South Caucasus and Europe cultural connections. Participants are:
Narmin Kamal, writer (Azerbaijan)
Tatia Skhirtladze (Georgia/Austria)
Siegfried Wober, Photographer, Caucasus Expert (Austria)
Narmin Kamal was born and lives in Baku, Azerbaijan. She studied philosophy at the state university in Baku and in 2007 she earned a PhD in history of philosophy. She is writer and translator. She writes poems, prose and journalistic as well as scientific texts primarily on social questions. Her first novel “Times Roman Az Lat “was published in 2006.
Tatia Skhirtladze is an artist born in Tbilisi, Georgia, now living in Vienna, Austria. She studied art and pedagogy in Georgia as well at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna where she graduated in 2004. A postgraduate scholarship of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research brought her to the Netherlands where she obtained MA-degree in postgraduate Research and Practice in Arts from the Dutch Art Institute Enschede in 2008. She uses analogue and digital art techniques most appropriate for the idea and content of her artwork and makes side-specific installations as well as performances in public space.
Siegfried Wober coordinated a development cooperation program in South Caucasus from 2001-2005. He regularly travels to Armenia, Azerbaijan as well as Georgia and organizes events on the countries in Austria. Besides currently working on conflict prevention in an international organization, he is active as photographic artist and in human rights initiatives.
